What to watch for Thursday

1. Boys basketball - Park vs. Health Sciences, 6 p.m.

It's a battle of Nos. 1 at Daemen College this evening when No. 1 large school Park (15-5) takes on No. 1 small school Health Sciences (14-3) in a nonleague battle featuring some of the top talents in Western New York. The Pioneers are coming off a tough loss Tuesday at Canisius, while the Falcons rebounded from a Saturday loss to Williamsville South with a win over Tapestry Tuesday.

No. 2 Canisius topples top-ranked Park

2. Girls basketball - Amherst at Williamsville South, 7:30 p.m.

No. 2 large school Williamsville South (11-3, 9-0) hosts No. 4 Amherst (11-5, 8-1) in the second round of the Battle of Main Street. The Billies handed the Tigers their lone ECIC II loss in a 63-51 game on Dec. 21.

3. Girls basketball - Clarence at Lancaster, 7:30 p.m.

No. 9 large school Clarence (11-6, 6-3) visits honorable mention Lancaster (12-4, 6-3) in a showdown between three-loss ECIC I teams. The Red Devils are currently riding a five-game winning streak, their longest of the season. The Legends have lost three of their last five but did hand No. 5 Orchard Park its lone loss of the season.

4. Boys hockey - Starpoint vs. Williamsville East, 7 p.m.

Division 2 foes Starpoint (6-6-1-1) and Williamsville East (5-6-1-2) face off at Northtown Center. The Flames beat Starpoint on Jan. 28, 3-2, but have lost twice since then. The Spartans have won two of three since that loss.
