Austin Alexander, the younger brother of Buffalo Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, committed to Fresno State on Wednesday, which was National Signing Day. Austin is a senior wide receiver at St. Thomas More, a prep school in Oakdale, Conn.
Before going to prep school, Austin played one season at Capital Christian in Sacramento and had seven receiving touchdowns (nine overall) with 740 receiving yards on 30 catches (an average of a whopping 24.7 yards per catch). He also showed skills in the return game.

Before getting recruiting attention for football, Austin was noted for being a basketball prospect rather than a football prospect after working on his game and taking the traditional AAU route to develop his game and get exposure.
Austin has cited Lorenzo's help in getting him in shape and helping with his football skills. Lorenzo also was involved in the decision making process as Austin narrowed his choices. He chose Fresno State over Oregon State, Central Florida and Purdue.
"My brother has been telling me since Day One to just be the hardest worker and make sure the grades are there because you can have all the talent in the world but coaches recruit talented, coachable players and players who work hard," Austin told The News in the fall. "Also, he’s been helping me with the exposure part since it's only my second year playing football. Most coaches don't know who I am."
