An icon of American music and a man who has earned every wrinkle, line and crag on his face three times over, Steve Earle is returning to the area for a show at 7 p.m. April 8 at the Rapids Theatre (1711 Main St., Niagara Falls)
Earle is a triple threat – songwriter supreme, producer and bandleader. He brought country music back where it all began from the moment he arrived on the scene with "Guitar Town" in 1986. He's engaged in various collaborative projects over the years, worked as a solo artist, and written a novel and a collection of short stories.
He kicked off 2018 activity by reassembling his band, the Dukes, and hitting the road to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his seminal country/rock/southern soul masterpiece "Copperhead Road." He's played a variety of area venues over the years, but this will be his first stop at the Rapids. The Mastersons open.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. $27.50-$37.50 through Ticketfly.com and rapidstheatre.com.
