A 20-year-old Niagara Falls man was beaten repeatedly over the head with a baseball bat early Saturday, sending him to the hospital with assorted injuries, Niagara Falls police said.
Badger C. John was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with head wounds and a deep gash to his left thumb suffered in the 3 a.m. attack, police said. His condition was not known.
John was attacked inside an Augustus Place residence. Police said that his girlfriend had argued with her father, who was visiting her home, prompting the victim to attempt to remove the father and another woman from the residence. The father retrieved a bat from his car and hit the victim repeatedly, according to police reports.
The girlfriend found John asleep, suffering various injuries, and took him to the hospital. Officers are searching for the 50-year-old suspect.
