Homeroom Announcements: Monday's big games & more

What to watch for Monday

1. Girls hockey - Section VI semifinals at Northtown Center

Today's doubleheader will determine the spots for Wednesday's 8 p.m. championship game back at Northtown Center.

  • 1-Frontier/Lake Shore/Orchard Park vs. 4-Lancaster/Iroquois/Depew, 4 p.m.
  • 2-Clarence/Amherst/Sweet Home vs. 3-Williamsville, 5:30 p.m.

2. Girls basketball - Holland at Eden, 7 p.m.

First place in ECIC IV is up for grabs when No. 6 small school Holland (15-2, 11-0) heads to No. 9 Eden (10-4, 9-1). The Dutchmen won the first matchup, 56-43, and are currently on a eight-game winning streak. The Raiders have won seven of eight since that loss.

3. Boys basketball - Tapestry at Health Sciences, 7 p.m.

The top two teams in the Charter Cup meet when No. 1 small school Health Sciences hosts No. 9 Tapestry. The Falcons lost their second game of the year Saturday in a highly-competitive game against No. 3 large school Williamsville South. The Thunderhawks lost the first matchup against Health Sciences, 70-60.

4. Boys hockey - Kenmore East vs. Kenmore West, 8 p.m.

Crosstown rivals Kenmore East (6-5-1-1) and Kenmore West (7-5-2) face off in the second game of a doubleheader at HarborCenter. Canisius takes on Clarence in the first game at 6 p.m.
