Salamanca city schools will be closed Monday because of illness sweeping through students and staff, the district announced.
The Salamanca City Central School District said in a bulletin online that officals plan to "conduct a deep and thorough clean of our classrooms and common areas" as part of an effort to "take precautionary measures and be pro-active."
The district will close all of its buildings to all staff and students from 6 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Tuesday. All activities and access to the buildings will be canceled during that time, and all offices are closed.
"Please do not attempt to enter buildings during this period as it may interfere with the cleaning process," the district said.
The district will resume classes as normal on Tuesday.
