Lingering pain leads woman to report attack in Franklin Street bar

A woman who said she was attacked by an acquaintance in a Franklin Street bar sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Saturday reported the attack when she went to Erie County Medical Center at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told police she knows the woman who attacked her but had no idea why she came up behind her, choked her and punched her in the head. The victim, who said the attacker once used her car without permission in Lackawanna in 2006 or 2007,  said the staff pulled the woman off her.

The victim, who was with her boyfriend, went home after the incident but went to ECMC later in the day, she said, because she was in pain, had vomited and had passed out.
