Jamestown man charged with DWI after catching officers' eyes

Jamestown police said they arrested a 59-year-old man Friday night for aggravated driving while intoxicated, after watching him trying to drive away while clearly drunk.

Officers said they saw Tod J. Ness of Jamestown "displaying signs of intoxication" and stopped his vehicle when he tried to leave the area around 3 Winsor St., near an unrelated incident that police were investigating, at about 7:30 p.m. Police said his blood alcohol content was above .18 percent, or more than twice the legal limit.

Ness was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
