Knife wielding attacker throws candle warmer and punch to face

A woman was stabbed in the back with a butcher knife early Thursday night on Buffalo's West Side, according to a police report.

The attack happened at about 6:40 p.m. on Fargo Avenue near Massachusetts Avenue. The victim remained in Erie County Medical Center early Friday afternoon though her condition was not known.

Her attacker is also accused of throwing a porcelain candle warmer at her and punching her in the face, according to the report.

Zuleyka R. Lanzo, 22, was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree harassment and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
