Homeroom Announcements: Friday's big games & more

Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Friday

1. Boys basketball - Bishop Timon-St. Jude at Park, 6:30 p.m.

No. 1 large school Park (14-4, 7-1) hosts No. 3 Bishop Timon-St. Jude (15-2, 6-1) looking to avenge its only local loss of the season, a 56-55 game at Timon on Jan. 9.

2. Girls basketball - Lockport at Newfane, 6:30 p.m.

Honorable mention large school Lockport (11-3) visits No. 4 small school Newfane (14-1) in a nonleague matchup. Both teams sit atop of their respective leagues. The Lions are tied with Grand Island at 9-1 in the Niagara Frontier League. The Panthers are the only undefeated team in the Niagara-Orleans League at 9-0.

3. Boys basketball - McKinley at South Park, 6:30 p.m.

Honorable mention large school McKinley (12-3, 8-2) and South Park (8-7, 7-3) look to keep pace with East and Middle College in the tight four-team race for the Yale Cup I title.

4. Boys hockey - Orchard Park vs. Williamsville North, 7 p.m.

Williamsville North (10-0-4) aims to keep its undefeated season alive when it heads to Leisure Rink to face Orchard Park (5-6-1). The Spartans won the first matchup on Jan. 4, 4-2.

North's Brett Sardina set the single-season scoring record with his 23rd goal last Sunday. He sits three away from the record, which is 26 by St. Joe's alum Cole Schneider.
