Gwendolyn L. Hull, of Buffalo, an active churchwoman, died Jan. 24 in Buffalo General Medical Center. She was 75.
Born in Coalwood, W.Va., the sixth of nine children, the former Gwendolyn Lanette Pratcher came to Buffalo with her family in 1950. She attended Schools 32 and 87 and was a graduate of Fosdick Masten Girls Vocational High School.
As a young woman, she was affiliated with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church under Pastor James F. Banks. In the late 1970s, she joined Pilgrim Baptist Church under the Rev. R. D. Holloway. She was a member of the Church Ushers Association of Buffalo and Vicinity.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Master Sgt. Gary L. “Ceaser”; a son, Timothy O. Jackson; three sisters, Cornelia Baker, Naomi Nelson and Mary Pratcher; and a brother, John Pratcher.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 3 in Pilgrim Baptist Church, 665 Michigan Ave.
