The Buffalo Niagara market saw a 70 percent jump in the number of guests who stayed in the region using Airbnb while the average local host earned $8,500 through the online lodging marketplace.
Airbnb said hosts in the Buffalo Niagara market earned $3.7 million last year. With 440 local hosts, that averages out to almost $8,500, according to the company.
In 2017, 43,800 guests used Airbnb to visit Buffalo. That's a 70 percent increase from 2016.
