Police: Buffalo parolee had AK-47, ammo, high-capacity magazine

Police who raided a Buffalo parolee's home this week found an AK-47 hidden above an air duct, a high-capacity magazine, another gun and more than 150 rounds of ammunition, according to a Buffalo police report.

Cortez Foster, 27, was arrested Monday night after parole officers and Buffalo police executed a search warrant at his home on Deerfield Avenue, near East Delavan Avenue.

Foster was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a larger capacity ammunition feeding device and violating the terms of his parole, according to court documents.

Foster was released on parole in March after spending about six years in prison on a robbery and drug conviction, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
