Blasdell man pleads guilty in Town of Niagara armed robbery

Brandon J. Kruszka (Provided by Niagara County Sheriff's Office)

Brandon J. Kruszka admitted in Niagara County Court Tuesday that he was armed with a .22-caliber rifle when he robbed a gas station in the Town of Niagara on Dec. 16.

Kruszka, 21, of Lakeview Avenue, Blasdell, didn't wait to be indicted before pleading guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree robbery for the $136 holdup at a Sunoco station on Packard Road.

Assistant District Attorney Mary Jean Bowman said Kruszka was living in the Expressway Village mobile home park in the Town of Niagara at the time of the robbery.

Judge Matthew J. Murphy III ordered Kruszka held without bail in the county jail to await sentencing April 10. The maximum sentence for the charge is seven years in prison.
