Veterans change the colors in West Seneca

This is the 61st year the West Seneca Veterans Committee has served veterans of the armed forces in West Seneca, and Monday night veterans participated in changing the colors inside the West Seneca Town Board meeting room.

"Each year on a rotation basis, the chairperson passes from one unit to the next," Supervisor Sheila M. Meegan said.

The leadership changed from Post 735, American Legion, to Marine Corps League 239 this year, and members of both groups attended the ceremony, placing the flags of the United States and New York State at the front of the Town Board meeting room. The room also is used by the Town Court.

The veterans committee, which includes seven groups, coordinates veterans activities in town, including the Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies.
