EXTRA CHANCE – The deadline has been extended to next Monday for entries in the annual Buffalo Auto Show Poster Contest. All entries will be on display during the 2018 Buffalo Auto Show from Feb. 8 to Feb. 11 in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
The contest is open all students in Western New York in kindergarten through 12th grade. Winners will be announced at the auto show. Each student submitting a poster will receive a free Auto Show Student VIP ticket and will be entered for a chance to win prizes.

WEEKEND WARM-UP – St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy will benefit from the Soup-er Chili Night from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the blue building at Blessed Sacrament Church, 263 Claremont Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
Tickets are $15 and include all-you-can-eat soup, chili and macaroni and cheese, plus desserts and beverages. Children 12 and under are free. Take-outs are available for $5 per quart.
There also will be a Soup-er theme basket auction, with drawings at 7:30 p.m. and previews from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

DON’T WAIT – Tickets are still $30 today and Wednesday for the Mad Hatter’s Gala to benefit the Williamsville Branch Library. It takes place at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 in Hughson Hall at Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St. at South Cayuga Road, Williamsville.
Creative “Mad Hatter” hats and attire are encouraged, with prizes for the most creative hats. There will be hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine and beer tastings and free valet parking.
Tickets are available at Village Artisans, 5560 Main St., Williamsville; at all four public libraries in Amherst and online at LoveYourVillage.org. Beginning Thursday, tickets are $35.
