Homeroom Announcements: Tuesday's big games & more

What to watch for Tuesday

1. Boys basketball - West Seneca West at Williamsville North, 7:30 p.m.

No. 6 large school West Seneca West (16-0, 8-0) looks to stay unbeaten when it heads to No. 9 Williamsville North (8-4, 4-2) for an ECIC I matchup. The Indians beat North on Dec. 19, 74-50, and haven't won a league game by less than 11 points. The Spartans have won five in a row since back-to-back losses to St. Mary's and Clarence.

2. Girls basketball - Lancaster at Orchard Park, 7:30 p.m.

No. 4 large school Orchard Park (13-0, 5-0) hosts honorable mention Lancaster (10-2, 4-1). The Quakers are one of four undefeated girls basketball teams in Western New York, along with Franklinville, Iroquois and Southwestern. The lone league loss for the Legends came against Frontier.

3. Girls hockey -Amherst/Sweet Home/Clarence vs. Monsignor Martin, 4 p.m. at Northtown Center

Both teams wrap up the regular seasons by playing their second game in as many days. Monsignor Martin (12-2-2-0-1) beat Williamsville yesterday, 2-1, while CASH (8-4-1-3-1) beat first-place Frontier/Lake Shore/Orchard Park, 3-2. The Section VI playoffs start Thursday with the quarterfinals at Northtown Center.

4. Boys basketball - East at McKinley, 6:30 p.m.

No. 3 small school East (10-3, 8-0) visits honorable mention McKinley (11-3, 7-2). The Panthers have won five straight since losing three of four, starting with a 75-72 loss to the Macks on Dec. 15. McKinley had its six-game winning streak snapped last Friday in a 62-56 loss to Middle College. Both league losses have been to the Kats.
