Search comes up empty after Buffalo police investigate weapon 'rumor'

Buffalo police found no weapon Tuesday at International Preparatory School at Grover following the report of a "rumor" of a weapon in the building, according to a school district spokeswoman.

School officials called police at about 11:30 a.m. and the school was locked down while officers searched the building on 14th Street, Buffalo Public Schools spokeswoman Elena Cala said in an email.

The search ended at about 1:05 p.m. and the school was declared safe. A police investigation is ongoing.
