Driver crashes into Niagara Falls home after vehicle hits black ice

A driver hit black ice and slid into a house in downtown Niagara Falls on Sunday morning, according to police.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. at 525 Rainbow Blvd. The driver of a Jeep Liberty, whose name was not released but who was identified as a 67-year-old North Tonawanda woman, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with a head injury, police said.

The driver was treated and released from the hospital, said Niagara Falls Police Capt. Angela Munn.

There were no reports of injuries to anyone inside the house, Munn said. An estimate of the damage to the building was not available.
