Former resident's belongings stolen from condemned house

A Niagara Falls woman who moved out of her house late last year due to health reasons told police that someone recently stole many of the belongings she had left behind.

The victim formerly lived in a Forest Avenue residence, which had since been condemned by the city due to non-working utilities, according to police reports. After leaving there in late October, the woman returned occasionally to check on her belongings. On Friday she discovered that someone had burglarized the now-vacant house, entering through a rear sliding door.

Among the items taken were two television sets, a microwave oven, a vacuum cleaner, living room furniture and a pair of video gaming systems. Total loss was estimated at $2,250.
