How current and former Bills players reacted to Eric Wood's career-ending injury

Nine-year Bills veteran Eric Wood has suffered a career-ending neck injury, he announced Friday.

"After consultation with Dr. Cappuccino and other physicians, I was informed that I was no longer cleared to play football, even with surgery or further treatment," he wrote in a statement.

Current and former teammates, including Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats, former Bills offensive guard Mike Jasper, Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, Bills safety Jonathan Meeks, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Cardale Jones, Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson, Kansas City running back C.J. Spiller, Jets tight end Chris Gragg, Bills wide receiver Zay Jones, Bills linebacker Preston Brown and Bills guard Richie Incognito offered thoughts and prayers.

"He's been a great friend to me, a great teammate, a great leader, guy I really leaned on a lot when I first got back in the league," Incognito said. "When I found out I was going to go for an interview with the Pegulas, he was one of the first ones I told."
