One of college hockey's premier programs will be paying a visit to HarborCenter in early 2019.
Canisius College announced today that it will play a two-game series against eight-time national champion North Dakota the first weekend in January 2019. The arrangement includes the Griffs playing twice at North Dakota the following season.
"North Dakota is one of the top college hockey programs in the country," Canisius coach Trevor Large said in a news release. "We welcome and relish the challenge to compete against an elite program, especially at the HarborCenter. I hope that the Buffalo hockey community with join us for what should be two highly entertaining games next January."
North Dakota has sent 98 players on to the National Hockey League.
The appearance by North Dakota ties in to the Frozen Four that will be played at KeyBank Center in April of 2019. Canisius hockey season ticket-holders receive priority purchase opportunities for college hockey's 2019 national championship event. Season seats for next season go on sale in February.
