Gold medalist will visit Olympic-themed Winterfest in Clarence

The Clarence Department of Youth and Recreation will hold its 2018 Winterfest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Clarence Town Park, 10405 Main St.

The Olympic-themed celebration will feature a chance to support local two-time sled hockey gold medalist Adam Page and the Sled Hockey Foundation. Page, a forward on Team USA, is preparing to compete in the 2018 Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, but his family will show off Page's gold medals from Vancouver and Sochi, as well as his sled and sticks. Autographed photos also will be available.

The event will include sledding, ice skating, crafts, games, face painting and hay rides. There also will be a sled dog demonstration, pony rides, balloon animals, a "Star Wars" show and a bike raffle.

A variety of food, from pizza to hot chocolate, will be available for purchase.
