The New York Jets have reached out to former Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison about a position on the coaching staff, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
Dennison has worked with new Jets offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates with the Denver Broncos.
The report does not indicate what type of role Dennison is being considered for.
The Bills ranked 22nd in the NFL in points during the 2017 season. They were 29th in total yards and 31st in passing. Dennison was fired days after the season ended and replaced by Brian Daboll.
Asked at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday to explain why he fired Dennison, Bills coach Sean McDermott said he wasn't "going to get into all that" but noted that the Bills needed to score more points.
"Rick Dennison is a good football coach and a good person," McDermott said.
