Police arrest suspect in bank robberies by wig-wearing bandits

Buffalo police have arrested a man who they said was connected with two bank robberies committed by wig-wearing suspects in the last two days.

Billy Evans, 28, of Erie, Pa., was arrested Tuesday night, police said. He was charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy.

Two suspects wearing wigs robbed the M&T Bank at 1300 Jefferson Avenue on Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, two suspects, with one wearing a wig, robbed the M&T Bank branch at 788 Tonawanda St.

Police believe one of the suspects was involved in both robberies but have not said whether Evans was that suspect or whether Evans wore a wig.
