Brian Meyer will be leaving WBFO as its news director March 30, he announced on his personal Facebook page Wednesday.
Meyer, a former reporter for The Buffalo News and WBEN, started the job at WBFO in 2014.
"It's time to go back to what I left in 2014 – a more leisurely and balanced lifestyle," Meyer wrote in his post.
"This has been a fantastic job," he continued. "I've been blessed to have worked with amazing colleagues – including one of the most talented teams of radio journalists in the state."
There was no immediate word from station management about what their plans were to fill the post.
"Since Brian’s arrival in 2014, WBFO has expanded in both staff and content production," John Grant, chief program officer for WNED-WBFO said in a written statement. "In addition to providing award-winning coverage of daily news, numerous long-term reporting projects are underway-- including Great Lakes Today, a Racial Equity initiative and five news desks. Brian has been a major contributor to WBFO and we wish him all the best."
