Wheatfield woman arrested after pepper-spraying incident in Niagara Falls

A Wheatfield woman was arrested Monday morning after she allegedly sprayed a woman with pepper spray in the parking lot at Trott Access Center in Niagara Falls, according to a Niagara Falls police report.

Deeann R. Schumacher, 30, of Lockport Road, got out of her car next to the victim shortly after 8 a.m., pulled the victim's car door open and sprayed her in the face, according to police. About 10 minutes later, as police were interviewing the victim, Schumacher was seen walking into the 11th Street building and she was taken into custody.

While Schumacher was being booked at Niagara Falls Police headquarters, police found her in possession of some loose pills. She was charged with unlawful possession of a noxious material, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substances outside their container, police said.
