Trump has clearly proven he is up to leading nation
The Jan. 17 letter, “Honorable Republicans appear to be in hiding,” ponders whether America as a country will survive in the next few years. This unsubstantiated claim is nothing more than empty partisan rhetoric and serves only to further divide us as a country. I understand that the writer has problems with President Trump’s behavior. Some of the president’s tweets and statements are appalling and indefensible, especially about women and immigrants. He should be and has been criticized for these shameful comments.
Although some people, including me, had fears about President Trump handling the military and leading our nuclear arsenal, he has proven that he can be trusted with that responsibility. Contrary to various lies, a doctor who examined Trump stated that he is mentally stable and fit to be president. This comes from someone who examined Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Whether people choose to believe it or not, the country is doing fine and is not on the verge of collapse.
Instead of firing off lies and viewing America through a slanted partisan lens, we should ground our opinions in actual reality. Only then can we move together as a country.
