Jamestown man arrested after restraining girlfriend during argument

A Jamestown man was arrested Monday and charged with second degree unlawful imprisonment following a lengthy argument with his girlfriend.

Jamestown police said they were dispatched about 2:30 p.m. to an East 6th Street apartment in the city for a domestic incident. Police said they eventually learned that the man and woman inside the apartment had been arguing for most of the day. When the woman attempted to leave, she told police the man physically restrained her. She was eventually able to free herself and left the apartment to call police.

Jorge O. Brito Jr., 21, was still at the apartment when police arrived and arrested him.
