Homeroom Announcements: Tuesday's big games & more

What to watch for Tuesday

1. Boys basketball - Burgard at Franklinville, 7 p.m.

No. 4 small school Franklinville (10-2) aims to avenge one of its losses on the season when it hosts Burgard (6-6). The Bulldogs won at home back on Dec. 13, 62-61. The Panthers have won five games in a row by at least 22 points since a loss to Olean at the end of December.

2. Girls basketball - Olmsted at Portville, 6 p.m.

No. 8 small school Olmsted (9-1) visits honorable mention Portville () in another nonleague matchup. The Owls have only lost to No. 4 Sacred Heart this season. Portville (6-5) has played a tough schedule with a few losses coming to No. 5 Allegany-Limestone, No. 6 Holland and St. Mary's of Lancaster.

3. Boys basketball - Lockport at Amherst, 7:30 p.m.

No. 8 large school Lockport (10-2) looks for its second win in as many days when it heads to Amherst (9-3). The Lions have won 10 of 11, the lone loss coming to No. 4 Niagara Falls, since dropping their opener against Williamsville East. The Tigers are riding a five-game winning streak.

4. Girls basketball - V-Mercy at Mount St. Mary, 6 p.m.

No. 8 large school Mount St. Mary (13-2) hosts Rochester power Our Lady of Mercy, which has wins over Cardinal O'Hara, Sacred Heart and Amherst this season. The Thunder have won three in a row since a loss at No. 1 O'Hara.

5. Boys basketball - McKinley at Jamestown, 7:30 p.m.

Honorable mention large school McKinley (10-2) makes the trip to Jamestown (8-4) for a nonleaguer before finishing up the regular season with six Yale Cup showdowns. The Macks have won six in a row since a loss to No. 10 Williamsville North. The Red Raiders have lost two of their last three after going on a a four-game winning streak.
