Nature poster contest reminds kids that little things count

Saving nature's pollinators is the theme of the Burchfield Nature and Art Center poster contest for students in grades K through 12.

Children are encouraged to use artistic expression to encourage saving such creatures as bees and butterflies, which have been diminishing. With the theme "Save the Pollinators – Bees and Butterflies," the contest hopes to aid the understanding of the insects' importance for plants and people.

Entries will be divided into four age groups, with cash prizes in each division. Entry forms and contest rules are available on the website Posters will be judged on clarity of theme, effectiveness and originality.

The posters will be displayed at the West Seneca Senior Center, 4620 Seneca St., for two weeks in May and some of the posters may be published for future BNAC promotions. For more information call 716-677-4843.
