Parolee found guilty of weapons possession

A Cheektowaga man faces a minimum of 7 years and a maximum of 15 years in prison after he was found guilty Friday of criminal possession of a weapon.

Raekwon Barnes, 23, also faces 5 years post-release supervision as a repeat violent felony offender. Barnes is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 20 by state Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns.

Aparole officer arrested Barnes April 3, 2017 during a search of Barnes' residence, where the parole officer found a loaded  firearm in the basement, according to the Erie County District Attorney's office.
