Bystanders tackle gunman inside Niagara Falls bar

A Niagara Falls man who walked into a Pine Avenue bar carrying a loaded gun in his hand early Friday morning was tackled and detained until police arrived, according to Niagara Falls police.

Tommy D. George, 47, of 22nd Street, also had a knife when he walked inside Empire Sportz Lounge, 1602 Pine, at about 2:25 a.m., according to a police report.

Several people disarmed George and held him on the ground, witnesses told police.

George was charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, according to the report.
