Lockport High School boys volleyball star Zach Schneider announced via Instagram that he will take his talents to Long Beach State in California.
As of three days ago, Long Beach was ranked first in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, followed by UCLA, Ohio State and Hawaii.
Schneider, a junior, helped the Lions win the Section VI Division I championship, a campaign in which they won three in-season tournaments and defeated all but one team, eventual state champion Penfield of Section V, on their schedule.
Schneider, a first team All-Western New York selection, finished with 230 kills, 140 digs and 52 aces.
Super excited to announce that I am committing to play division 1 volleyball at Long Beach State University! Thank you to everyone who has helped me on this journey, and thanks to God for providing this great opportunity for me. I can’t wait to be a part of the best program in the country. 💪🏼 #boombaby
