Trial begins in domestic violence case involving attacks with hammer, shovel

Jury selection is underway in State Supreme Court for the trial of a man accused of attacking three people in a jealous rampage in June 2016.

Mark T. Dublino is accused of attacking a former girlfriend, her father and her new boyfriend.

Mark T. Dublino, 54, is accused of using a sledgehammer to beat a former girlfriend and a man who was at her home on Mill Street in Williamsville on June 6.

Dublino faces two counts of attempted murder and assault for a subsequent attack on the woman's father at his home on Catherine Street. The 77-year-old was struck repeatedly with a shovel and suffered a broken arm and other injuries, according to those familiar with the case.

Dublino, who most recently lived in Cheektowaga, surrendered to Amherst Police the day as the attacks and remained in jail.
