The building that formerly housed Fortunato's Restaurant is about to be reborn – as Riverside Place.
Tina DeJesus is seeking Buffalo Common Council approval to re-establish a restaurant at 1083 Tonawanda St., directly across from Riverside Park.
The 5,946-square-foot, two-story building has a fully equipped restaurant and bar that seats 90 on the ground floor and a second-floor bar, kitchen and banquet facility that can handle 150 people. There's also a third-floor apartment.
"I'm very excited about a new restaurant opening up there," said Common Councilmember Joseph Golombek, who represents the area.
The Buffalo Planning Board recommended Council approval on Tuesday.
