Middle States picks Hilbert administrator as commissioner

A vice president of Hilbert College has been elected as a commissioner for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, a regional accrediting organization for colleges and universities.

Richard J. Pinkowski, Hilbert's vice president for business and finance since 1990, will serve a three-year term.

Pinkowski, a certified public accountant, has been a finance reviewer for more than 20 years on Middle States teams that visit campuses and has extensive experience in higher education finance and accounting.

The U.S. Department of Education recognizes Middle States as the accrediting body for higher education institutions in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, including distance education and correspondence education programs offered at those institutions.
