Bills receiver Zay Jones says he had successful shoulder surgery

Bills wide receiver Zay Jones announced on Twitter that he had successful surgery Tuesday.

"Coming back even stronger," he tweeted.

Jones needed surgery to repair a torn labrum. Jones’ father, Robert, a former NFL linebacker, revealed the injury during a podcast with BillsWire.com.

An NFL source with direct knowledge of the injury told The News on Sunday that the Bills never treated Jones for a labrum injury during the season and the injury was revealed last week during a standard season-ending MRI examination.

Jones father today tweeted his support and encouragement for his son.

Older brother Cayleb, who plays for the Minnesota Vikings, tweeted a supportive message to Zay, including "You are a soldier Zay. Your bright future is inevitable."

What is going on with Zay Jones' shoulder injury?
