Hamburg supervisor wants to work with villages to cut costs

Hamburg Supervisor James M. Shaw said he plans to reach out to the two villages in the town, Blasdell and Hamburg, to discuss ways of working together.

He would like to see the Town Board meet with the Blasdell and Hamburg village boards.

"We'd invite the entire town," he said.

Shaw said he is reaching out to the mayors of the two villages to discuss consolidation of services, merging duplicate functions and considering other ways to save money, particularly on the service end.

"I'd like to get the community involved in coming up with some creative ideas to make things less expensive," he said.
