Snowmobiler faces charges after crash

A 43-year-old Oakfield man had a little too much to drink before getting on his snowmobile, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.

Raymond E.J. Smith Jr. of Lockport Road was arrested for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated after he was involved in a single-snowmobile crash at 10:19 p.m. Saturday night on Lockport Road.

He was also charged with operating a snowmobile on a highway, operating without insurance, operating an unregistered snowmobile, unreasonable speed and refusing to take a breath test. He was released on tickets and is to appear in Oakfield Town Court on April 2.
