Roswell Park Clinical Sciences Center cited by Urban Land Institute

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's Scott Bieler Clinical Sciences Center has been named a finalist in the Urban Land Institute New York’s Awards for Excellence in Institutional Development.

The $50.5 million center, which opened in May 2016 adjacent to the main building, was cited for increasing the density of Roswell Park’s campus without expanding its footprint. The 11-story facility contains a variety of specialized cancer centers, is connceted to the main hospital and was designed with patient input, which the Urban Land Institute said sets "an example for medical centers around the world."

The institute cited its "green roof" and other energy-efficient features as well as its "high ceilings, scenic views, and extensive natural light," which it said create a "premiere" environment for workers, patients and visitors.
