A local home improvement contractor has pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny after failing to perform work on a client's property after he had received a down payment on the project.
Brian Rogers, 39, of Orchard Park, already repaid the victim. West Seneca Town Justice Jeffrey M. Harrington sentenced Rogers to perform 50 hours of community by March 12, as part of his conditional discharge.
Rogers’ conviction stems from an unfulfilled home improvement contract, according to the Erie County District Attorney's office. He entered into a contract with a victim who had paid him $2,184 as a deposit for the services of Rogers' company, Rogers Construction. However, once Rogers received the down payment, he abandoned the project without performing any work or purchasing any materials for the project, according to the DA's office.
