What to watch for Wednesday

1. Girls basketball - Cardinal O'Hara at St. Mary's of Lancaster, 8 p.m.

No. 1 large school Cardinal O'Hara looks to extend its winning streak over Western New York foes to when it visits No. 10 St. Mary's in the second game of a Monsignor Martin doubleheader. The Hawks opened up league play with an impressive 79-30 win over Mount St. Mary on Monday. The Lancers lost at Sacred Heart, 57-40.

High School Extra: O'Hara extends WNY streak

2. Boys basketball - Walsh at St. Mary's of Lancaster, 5 p.m.

The first game of the MMHSAA doubleheader at St. Mary's features the No. 3 small school Lancers and Walsh. St. Mary's has a league wins over ranked small schools Niagara Catholic last Wednesday, 67-64, and lost to Cardinal O'Hara at home yesterday, 78-69. The Eagles lost their only division game to St. Francis, 77-35.

3. Boys hockey - Starpoint vs.West Seneca West, 6 p.m.

Federation newcomer Starpoint (3-3) welcomes Division 2 foe West Seneca West (3-2-1) to the Hockey Outlet in North Tonawanda. The Indians topped the Spartans back on Dec. 1, 3-2.

4. Girls hockey - Kenmore/Grand Island vs. Lancaster/Iroquois/Depew, 5:30 p.m.

Kenmore/GI (0-8-1-0-1) takes on LID (2-6-1) at Riverworks in a rescheduled game from December. Ken/GI remained winless yesterday following a 7-2 loss to Monsignor Martin. LID picked up its second win of the season on Monday with a 4-3 upset over Amherst/Sweet Home/Clarence.

- Girls basketball: Mount Mercy at Mount St. Mary, 6 p.m.
