Woman, 18, charged in connection with New Year's Day stabbing in South Buffalo

A Lackawanna teenager has been accused of stabbing someone in the lower back Jan. 1 and causing serious injury, according to Buffalo Police.

Officers said Samantha Clements, 18, is accused of stabbing the victim on the right side of the lower back while they were on Seneca Street in South Buffalo, between Indian Church Road and Duerstein Street, according to Buffalo Police.

The alleged incident took place at 4 a.m. on New Year's Day, Buffalo Police said. Clements' arrest was logged into the department's computer system Monday.

She was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a narcotic drug, according to Buffalo Police.

Clements and the victim, a 23-year-old Lackawanna man, apparently know each other, said Michael J. DeGeorge, a Buffalo Police spokesman.
