A former employee of Advanced Auto Parts in the City of Lockport admitted in Niagara County Court Monday that he stole $9,371 from the till from May to October 2017.
Zachary W. Adams, 33, of Upper Mountain Road, Cambria, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny and risks up to four years in prison.
Assistant District Attorney Ryan K. Parisi said Adams pocketed cash after figuring out which items were overstocked and filling out fake return forms for them.
When Judge Matthew W. Murphy III asked how he got away with it for so long, Adams replied, "I'm not sure. It was very brazen on my part."
Assistant Public Defender David E. Blackley said he expects Adams to have a down payment toward restitution ready at his sentencing March 12.
