Jamestown man sought after domestic incident is charged with DWI

A Jamestown man who was already being sought after a domestic incident was charged with DWI and several other infractions after police said he walked away after his vehicle struck a tree.

Jamestown police were called to 211 Front St. at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, where they found that a vehicle traveling west on Front Street had crossed a lane of traffic, left the road and struck a tree. The driver walked away.

Police determined that the driver was Brian S. Morath, 37, of Jamestown, and he was located at his residence. Police charged him with DWI, as well as failure to keep right, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and driving an uninspected vehicle.

Morath was held in the City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
