A man from the Chautauqua County hamlet of Kennedy had a drug possession charge added to aggravated unlicensed operation and felony DWI counts after Jamestown police found cocaine while arresting him.
Police said Dwayne A. Smith, 49, was driving on North Main Street near Fluvanna Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when police stopped him. Smith was found to be driving while intoxicated and driving without a license, police said, and while he was being booked into the City Jail, police said they found cocaine in his possession.
He was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with a license plate violation.
