New workforce training center to hold information session

Officials with the new Western New York Workforce Training Center at the Northland Corridor hub will be holding an information session this weekend for students, job-seekers, women, men and veterans.

The applicant program, designed for those interested in careers in advanced manufacturing and energy, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Delavan-Grider Community Center, at 877 East Delavan Avenue.

The program will be led by Stephen Tucker, president and CEO of the new training center, which is being created in a former manufacturing complex at 683 Northland that is being redeveloped by the city's Buffalo Urban Development Corp. with state support from the Buffalo Billion.
