Homeroom Announcements: Thursday's big games & more

Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Thursday

1. Boys basketball - Dunkirk at Olean, 7:30 p.m.

Perennial power Olean (7-1, 2-0) hosts fellow CCAA West I unbeaten Dunkirk (6-4, 3-0). The Huskies haven't dropped a game at home since losing to the Marauders during the 2010-11 season.

2. Girls hockey - Amherst/Sweet Home/Clarence vs. Monsignor Martin, 4:30 p.m. at North Buffalo Ice Rink

Monsignor Martin (5-1) handed CASH on of its two losses with a dominating 6-2 win back on Dec. 11. CASH (6-2-1-1) has the most points in the WNY Federation with 21.5 thanks in part to having played the most games.

3. Girls basketball - St. Mary's of Lancaster at Lake Shore, 6:30 p.m.

Top large schools Lake Shore (2-2) and St. Mary's (7-4) play for the second time this season. The Lancers won a 61-48 home game on Dec. 19.

4. Boys hockey - Grand Island vs. Williamsville East, 5:30 p.m.

This Division 2 battle between the Vikings and Flames is the first of three at Northtown Center on Thursday. Orchard Park and Williamsville North play at 7:30 p.m., and Clarence and St. Joe's cap off the action at 8 p.m.
