Police: Men used machete, sword as threats in Buffalo incidents

Two Buffalo men have been charged in separate incidents with threatening others with a sword and a machete, according to Buffalo police reports.

In one incident, a man told police a man swung a machete at him during an argument at around 8 p.m. Monday in a Good Avenue apartment, according to a Buffalo police report.

Gary D. Byrd, 51, was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment, according to the report.

In the second incident, a woman told police a man threatened to strike her with a sword at around 2 p.m. Tuesday in an apartment on Riverside Avenue, according to a police report.

Charles J. Palmari, 19, was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment, according to the report.

Officers confiscated the weapons in each case.
